I've never heard about him thinking he was a holy man. Then again I've only gotten into these types of discusions about his death and have never actually done any research on him. Though in all of "The age old debate of how Rasputin died" type topics i've found on the internet all say he was an evil advisor to one of the Russian Czar's just like Jace said he was. Then again that might just be something that got added to one of the topics to make it more interesting and just got carried over to other topics of the same type.

I too must admit that I haven't done any research on him and have only gained knowledge of him through topics of this sort. Though I was once talking to our mother about him and she said he was a very evil little man who deserved how he died.
